And I just kept on doing this…for YEARS!

I served to the point of suffering, hoping that, one day, my leader would see that I, too, was a leader…that one day, my colleagues would see my value…that one day, my service would lessen my struggle.

And sometimes it worked, BUT IT NEVER LASTED. Acheivement was always fleeting. Why? Not because giving is “bad” and people are “evil.” No, that’s not it! Giving is great, but – and here’s the key – I had only positioned myself to receive little.

I had the very wrong belief that God would be most pleased with my struggle, and when I had fought long and hard enough, He would cause a tremendous wave of blessing to overtake me.

But that, I later realized, is a LIE! I was created by God to live and enjoy a life of abundance. God gets joy and satisfaction out of my happiness, not my struggle. In fact, He actually delights in my prosperity. (If you are a parent, you understand this concept very well – you want to see your children flourish and thrive and experience abundance!)

And, just as God delights in my prosperity, He will also delight in yours…
